In 1995 I worked the mornings from 7am to 1:30pm on a farm picking vegetables and in the afternoons I cycled over to my studio in a schoolroom tagged for demolition the following year. My paintings of this time gradually took on earthy textures and colours and suggest landscapes or ploughed earth.
