1992oil on canvas, (approx. 20 x 30 cm)

A small fridge, an open sash window, outside a sunny day and vegetation, beside the curtain an oil painting hanging on an intensely red wall. A small painting of contrasts. The cold of a fridge against the warmth of the red wall. A room (not a kitchen) with a fridge in it suggests a bedsit: a single room. The room of an artist perhaps as there seems to be a relationship between the painting and the exterior in movement and colour.
I like the fact that this stands in contrast to the more abstract work I was doing at this time. It is much smaller than my other canvases and raises questions about the direction my art was moving.
